Sound for Picture
This was by far the most fun I have ever had while doing a prject at the New England Institute of Art. I was so enthusiastic about this assignment that I took it much farther than the requirements had asked of me. We were supposed to find a trailer or clip from a movie and replace all the audio in it. However, I took it a step further. I personally made a trailer for The Great Gatsby using Adobe Premiere Pro and replaced all the audio except a few voices because I didn't have the voice actors available. This project showcases most of my skills and is my personal favorite to show off.
During my Sound for Picture class we had a final project that was somewhat similar to the Great Gatsby project, except this time we were supposed to use the original production audio as well as sound effects and add anything else that was needed. For this project I worked with a partner. I did all of the cut effects and he did all of the Foley, and then we got together and did the ADR and 5.1 surround mixing.
This was the first assignment I was ever given for Sound for Picture. We were given just a video file with no audio attached and we had to use a specific library of sounds to create all the audio again. This project was when I fell in love with Sound for Picture I spent hours and hours inside the Pro Tools Lab working on getting everything to sound as perfect as possible with the sound effects given to me.
